What is a QR Code?

Not familiar with QR Codes? That's OK; it's up and coming. Here's a short course: "Q" stands for "Quick" and "R" stands for "Response." Code is, well, you know ... an online website address.

QR (Quick Response) Codes contain online addresses embedded in two-dimensional squares whose designs resemble oddly-made cross word puzzles. Some have likened them to strange mazes. You can't read the URL embedded in the QR Code with the naked eye, but your customers' smart phones - equipped with a dedicated camera - can (If your smart phone doesn't have a QR scanner, you can download an app free.)

How does a QR Code work?

When you see a QR Code image displayed on a business sign, vehicle wrap or tradeshow banner, simply take a photo of the Code with your smart phone's camera. The Code will then take you to the website embedded within the QR Code image.

Will QR Code use increase in the future?

Studies estimate that at least 1 Billion people will use smart phones to access the Internet by 2013! How many of those will become your customers through your QR Code?

How does this help you market your products and services?

In more ways than we can address here! Place a QR Code on your outdoor business sign and in your window display and on your vehicle (using vinyl graphic, magnetic signs, or a vehicle wrap), and even when you're closed (or parked!), prospective customers can snap a photo of your QR Code and go straight to your website.

Let's say you have a great new restaurant, and you've displayed your logo, marketing message, and contact information on your company car. But you've also included a QR Code embedded with a link to your "Daily Specials." A prospective customer passes by, notices your wrapped vehicle and wants more information. She snaps a picture of your QR Code and is taken straight to your delicious special of the day, a Cheese topped Philadelphia Hot Pork Sandwich! She'll review her day's agenda to find time to squeeze in a quick visit to your shop!

You now have a new customer, someone who has your URL in her phone's directory. When she needs a good sandwich, who's she going to think of?
